Lists tend to run a lot smoother and in a more efficient manner when working with Medinet. The best thing I’ve found since registering is working with a very well-trained workforce.

Introduction
I registered with Medinet in 2011 following hearing about Medinet through direct correspondence and deciding to register due to the service being all about supporting the NHS.
Background
I have been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist since 2001 with special interest in endoscopy, IBD and clinical education choosing my specialist role due to its Interventional aspects, rapidly evolving treatments of various Gastro-intestinal disorders. A positive role model also played a major part in making me to decide in choosing Gastroenterology as a career option. My usual role as a consultant Gastroenterologist involves providing Inpatient, Outpatient and On-Call service for patient presenting with Gastrointestinal Haemorrhage, I act both as clinical and Educational supervisor. I am also a PI for 3 IBD related clinical research trial.I am actively involved with education and training of both Medical and Non-Medical trainees. I firmly believe in working with CCG and GPs to improve pathways to deliver better patient care.
Medinet Experience
I predominantly provide endoscopy service to NHS through Medinet. Lists tend to run a lot smoother and in a more efficient manner when working with Medinet. This is primarily due to fewer interruptions as compared to one’s usual workplace. The best thing I’ve found since registering is working with a very well-trained workforce who are required to be up to date with mandatory skills as a prerequisite to maintain their registration. The model of care provided by Medinet helps to facilitate delivery of 7-day elective patient care. I would be a big waste of resources if very costly endoscopy equipment were sitting idle especially over the weekends purely due to shortage of local staff.
How does working with Medinet support you?
Working with Medinet helps me to deliver high volume endoscopy service, which has a positive impact on my endoscopy related KPIs. It also allows me to meet with colleagues from other NHS Trusts and private sector providing opportunities to learn from others.
