Medinet works with NHS organisations across the United Kingdom to reduce the number of patients waiting for consultation, assessment and treatment.
We do this by utilising spare capacity to see outpatients, treating day case patients and inpatients requiring routine surgery. Medinet Consultants hold substantive NHS posts at Consultant level. We can also provide nursing staff, support technicians and surgical teams. Our teams work within your hospital premises when there is spare capacity, usually at weekends, to see outpatients, perform day/inpatient surgery and conduct investigations.
The process for implementation involves liaising with service managers to establish the requirements and how Medinet can deliver these solutions to fit in with the existing structure of the hospital. The service provided by Medinet is flexible to adapt to the requirements of each individual Trust and will be discussed in detail with operational and clinical staff.
A site visit will also be carried out by senior members of our clinical team to discuss the finer details of service delivery, including the patient journey to ensure that the whole Medinet team are equipped with the knowledge to mirror the service provided by the local team and that the experience does not differ for the patient.
All Consultants who are placed to work have been through Medinet’s registration process to ensure we only use the highest standard of clinicians and will be approved by the Trust in advance.
Once an initiative is up and running, Medinet has a robust system in place for monitoring and reviewing feedback and working with the Trust to identify any issues to improve service delivery. Medinet will also share clinical outcomes with the Trust and provide reports on a number of KPIs.
Using Medinet to conduct your outpatient clinics can significantly reduce your patient's waiting times. Our consultants assess each patient and recommend any investigations required. We will follow the local administration policies in place at the Trust, and the consultant can return to discuss findings with the patient at a follow-up clinic. At the initial consultation, a significant number of patients are discharged back to their GP with appropriate advice.
Medinet provides a wide range of diagnostic services including endoscopy, neurophysiology and audiology. We can provide these as a stand-alone service to relieve diagnostic waiting time pressures. We can also provide them following our outpatient clinics to avoid having any impact on local diagnostic services.
Medinet provides surgeons, anaesthetists and surgical teams to carry out daycase and inpatient procedures within yourorganisation. Our consultants can provide an initial consultation with the patient and then return at an agreed date to carry out any surgical procedures, following local patient pathways through to discharge. Alternatively we can provide a surgery-only service as required.
