Southampton Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) department has one of the longest patients waiting lists in the UK. Medinet were asked to support with a 2-year contract after a successful initial project that saw the Medinet Consultant Surgeon and Anaesthetist working with local clinicians. When services first began at Southampton, the local team were hesitant and had reservations about an external team coming in. However, these fears were quickly dismissed when they experienced the expertise and quality of service that Medinet could provide. When the Trust therefore was in need of further in-sourcing support, they did not hesitate to ask for support again from the Medinet team, and are currently looking at other specialisms to work in together in the future.
