Information Handling Statement
Medinet staff provide care on behalf of the local NHS Trust (or Health Board). All Medinet Clinical Services staff are trained to understand the handling of confidential information. Medinet have systems and processes in place to secure the data we hold. Medinet do not ask for information that is unnecessary.

Medinet Clinical Services only gather information that is required for the understanding of you and the health issues that you have. Medinet Clinical Services only hold on to that information for as long as necessary under legal obligations and for medical safety (for instance so that we may refer back to it if we have asked to see you again). We will only share that information as part of your clinical record at the trust where our staff see you, or with you should you make a request for this information (Subject Access Request)

We check your information to make sure that it is correct and up to date. This is important so that Medinet Clinical Services do not undertake an unnecessary procedure on you and that results are sent to the correct GP for instance. If patients wish to have a more detailed understanding of why a specific piece of information is requested they may ask the clinician, making the request, who will be happy to respond.
