The role of the Endoscopy Nurse Manager is to provide high profile nursing leadership, ensuring all service users receive high quality care, using evidence based best practice. Services are delivered in accordance to JAG recommendations and local NHS policies and procedures are followed at all times.
The Endoscopy Nurse Manager is responsible for the safe delivery of endoscopy services, monitoring individual nurse practice and driving forward service improvements. Kaye works with individual NHS organisations ensuring all nursing teams have the required competence and mix of skill. Kaye leads audit of practice and manages practice development.
Kaye Drew has 36 years nursing experience in the NHS. She worked within Gastroenterology & Endoscopy as Staff Nurse, Departmental Sister and Unit Manager starting in 1998.
In 2004 Kaye trained as a Nurse Endoscopist and worked as an Advanced Endoscopy Practitioner from 2006. Kaye is a JAG accredited Nurse Endoscopist in Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy and has undertaken therapeutic procedures. Kaye was a trainer in Endoscopy and was an Independent reader & reporter of capsule endoscopy for the largest service in Europe.
Since retirement from her full time NHS post in December 2015 Kaye continues to works as a nurse in endoscopy and holds a current GIN passport. Kaye continues to run capsule endoscopy study days for Nurses which are supported by Diagmed Health.
